Samatar Rooble is a student who went to the remote countryside during the school holidays to enjoy the beauty of spring, which had just begun. Samatar had never before set foot outside of Mogadishu. His knowledge of rural life and its experiences was based on the stories told by his peers, some of whom would visit these areas during vacation periods.
